November 13, 2024: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly purchased a home in Portugal, sparking speculation that it serves as an “emergency escape solution” after Donald Trump regains power in the United States. According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex bought one of the luxury residences at the exclusive CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, about 81 miles south of Lisbon. This development is part of a broader contingency plan for the couple amid concerns about Harry’s immigration status in the U.S.
Trump’s alleged dislike for the Sussexes adds weight to their decision. He has publicly criticised Prince Harry and even suggested he might consider deporting him due to ongoing visa issues. In February, Trump said at the Conservative Political Action Conference, “He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own.”
Life in the U.S. has not been what Harry and Meghan envisioned. Meghan’s Hollywood dreams, which she hoped to rekindle by signing with the William Morris Endeavor talent agency, have yet to yield significant results. Rumors suggest that many Hollywood A-listers are distancing themselves from the Sussexes, adding to the couple’s challenges. Their move to Portugal appears to provide a safety net as they navigate these uncertainties.
