Hugh Jackman Reflects on Reunion with Ke Huy Quan 24 Years After ‘X-Men’

Hugh Jackman recently shared his feelings about reuniting with Ke Huy Quan, 24 years after they first worked together on the 2000 film ‘X-Men.’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Quan served as an assistant fight choreographer on the superhero film, which was directed by Bryan Singer and featured an ensemble cast including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, and Anna Paquin.

Jackman and Quan’s reunion took place at Kevin Feige’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony. Jackman posted a photo of himself with Quan on social media, accompanied by a heartfelt voiceover that reminisced about their time on ‘X-Men.’

“One of the things about the movie being released is so many moments are happening that are making me appreciate the 25 years that I’ve been playing Wolverine,” Jackman said, referring to his upcoming role in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ “I saw Ke Huy Quan — and of course, he won an Oscar recently, and his story is incredible, and his career is incredible — and we saw each other, and we embraced because we worked together on X-Men.”

Jackman fondly remembered Quan’s contributions to ‘X-Men,’ particularly noting how much he learned from him about action movies and stunts. “That’s really where I learned a lot, a lot about how to do action movies, and how to do stunts, and it was just really cool to see him again and to reconnect,” he added.

Quan also shared a photo of their reunion on social media, expressing his excitement about seeing Jackman again after so many years. “Ran into Hugh Jackman recently,” Quan wrote. “The last time I saw him was 24 yrs ago on the set of X-Men when he first trained as Wolverine. He is just as nice as I remembered. Huge congratulations to @thehughjackman @vancityreynolds and the entire Deadpool team on a record opening. Bravo.”
