Vikrant Massey’s dedication to portraying relatable characters shines through in his upcoming film Sector 36, set to release on September 13 on Netflix.
During promotional events in Mumbai, he emphasized his commitment to exploring diverse narratives, stating, “I don’t want to restrict myself by doing the same kind of content.” He aspires to be the voice of the common man, seeking to inspire audiences through his roles.
Sector 36, directed by Aditya Nimbalkar and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, is a crime thriller that highlights the stark contrasts in socio-economic backgrounds. The film tells the story of a police officer who investigates the mysterious disappearances of children from a local slum, confronting a cunning serial killer along the way. Vikrant noted that although some advised him against taking on the role of a morally ambiguous character, he believes in the importance of telling such crucial stories, asserting, “Some stories are important to be told and this is one of them.”
The film is inspired by true events and delves into significant themes like power, crime, and social inequality, promising a gripping narrative that sheds light on society’s darker aspects.
