Imran Khan Calls Shehbaz’s Govt “Foolish,” Foresees Inevitable Downfall

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has sharply criticized the government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, labeling it as “foolish” and predicting its imminent downfall.

Speaking from Adiala Jail, where he is currently detained, Khan claimed that the current administration is entangled in its own mismanagement and is on the brink of collapse.

Khan, who founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, also called for the release of CCTV footage from the May 9 riots, insisting that this evidence would reveal the true perpetrators. He stated, “If the culprits are found to be affiliated with the PTI, I will not only expel them from the party but also apologize.” He emphasized that his demand for the footage is motivated by a desire for transparency and justice, even offering a conditional apology for the sake of the country.

The former prime minister further accused the government of trying to dismantle PTI and asserted that any election conducted under the current conditions would not be accepted by his party.

Imran Khan’s remarks come in the wake of ongoing political turmoil in Pakistan, including his arrest warrants issued in cases such as the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust. The latter involves serious allegations of corruption and abuse of authority. Despite these legal challenges, Khan remains a vocal critic of the Shehbaz Sharif-led government, underscoring the deep divisions in Pakistani politics.
