IND VS BANG : Unbeaten Duo Gill-Rishabh Pant Guided India To A Solid Position At 205/3 By Lunch On Day 2

On Day 3 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, an unbeaten 138-run partnership between Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant has put India in a commanding position. By lunch on the third day, India stands at 205/3, leading Bangladesh by 432 runs.

The third day began with India at 81/3, with Gill and Pant continuing their innings. They batted fluently throughout the morning session, adding 124 runs to India’s total without losing a wicket, at an impressive run rate of 4.43. Gill reached his half-century in just 79 balls, while Pant completed his in 88 balls.

By the end of the session, Gill remained unbeaten on 86, and Pant on 82, showcasing a balanced mix of aggression and stability. Their partnership has solidified India’s grip on the match, with Bangladesh facing a daunting challenge ahead.

Earlier, in India’s first innings, they scored 376, thanks to contributions from Ravichandran Ashwin (113) and Ravindra Jadeja (86*). Bangladesh was bowled out for 149, with Jasprit Bumrah (4/50) leading the Indian bowling attack. With India now well ahead, they will likely aim to bat Bangladesh out of the game before pushing for a victory in the coming sessions.
