After a 28-year hiatus, India will host the 71st Miss World pageant, which will be broadcast live and globally via streaming services. “Chairman of Miss World, Julia Morley CBE, commented, “Excitement fills the air as we proudly announce India as the host country for Miss World,” the Miss World official page said X. Anticipate a celebration of empowerment, variety, and beauty. Prepare yourself for an amazing voyage! #BeautyWithAPurpose #MissWorldIndia.”
The pageant was last conducted in Bengaluru in 1996. In 1966, Reita Faria Powell became the first Indian woman to win the title of Miss World. In a statement, Julia Evelyn Morley CBE, Chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, said, “It is an immense honor to be returning to India, a country I greatly admire, and to bring 120 National champions to witness the splendor of this country.” Miss World is a month-long celebration of female success, not just one single event. We’re going to showcase India to the world and attract the world to India.” Founded in 1951, the Miss World pageant claims to transcend conventional beauty pageants and adopt a new paradigm focused on the capacity and intelligence to bring about positive change through humanitarian service.
India’s Miss World Organization advisor, Munish Gupta, stated, “Miss World will showcase rich tapestry of India’s culture, traditions, heritage, arts and crafts, textiles, cuisine, tourism and much more to a massive global audience.” This year, to demonstrate why they ought to move on to the Top 20 finals, every competitor will have a dedicated media channel on the expansive MissWorld.com platform.
