From Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru, the Indian men’s and women’s hockey teams took off on Monday to take part in the 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023, which is scheduled to take place in Valencia, Spain, from December 15 to December 22.
The Indian Women’s Hockey Team’s first match of the 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023 will be against the host nation, Spain, on December 15. After that, they will play Belgium on December 16, Germany on December 19, and Ireland in their final match on December 21.
The Indian Men’s Hockey Team’s 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023 campaign will come to an end on December 15 when they play the hosts, Spain. After that, they will play Belgium on December 16, Germany on December 19, and France on December 20.
“The 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023 will give us invaluable exposure against some of the top hockey teams in the world ahead of the all-important FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier Ranchi 2024 next month,” Indian Women’s Hockey Team Captain Savita stated prior to boarding the plane for Valencia. Our goal going into the competition is to make sure we play to the best of our abilities and patch up all the holes in our armour.”
Harmanpreet Singh, the captain of the Indian men’s hockey team, also discussed the importance of the 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023, saying, “We are third in the world right now, but we will work to move up the ladder in line with our goals ahead of the Olympics in Paris in 2024. In order to accomplish that, we need to prove ourselves to the formidable teams visiting Valencia and make sure we win. The team is excited to start the 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023 because they know it will be an amazing experience.”
