October 18, 2024: Jake E. Lee, former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, shared an update on his condition after being shot multiple times in Las Vegas on October 15, 2024.
In a post on the Red Dragon Cartel’s Facebook page, the 67-year-old musician expressed gratitude for the support he’s received. He explained that he was shot three times while walking his dog, Coco, and described the severity of his injuries. One bullet went through his forearm, another through his foot, and a third hit his back, breaking a rib and damaging a lung. Lee emphasized his focus on recovering from the lung injury, which requires draining, before addressing the other injuries.
Lee also reassured fans that his dog, Coco, is unharmed, humorously noting that Coco appreciates the concern as well. Despite the serious nature of the incident, he remains optimistic, stating that he feels “very lucky.”
The Las Vegas Police Department confirmed that the shooting appeared to be random, and it took place around 2:45 a.m. while Lee was out walking his dog. Authorities found 15 shell casings at the scene, indicating that the shooter had “emptied his clip” during the attack. Lee is currently in the intensive care unit of a Las Vegas hospital but is conscious and expected to fully recover, according to his representative.
Jake E. Lee gained fame in the 1980s as the guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, contributing to iconic albums like Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin. After his time with Osbourne, he went on to form the bands Badlands and Red Dragon Cartel. Despite his injuries, Lee’s update reflects his resilience and determination to recover from this terrifying ordeal.
