James Anderson Transitions to Bowling Mentor Role After Test Retirement

Following his retirement from international cricket after the first Test at Lord’s against the West Indies, former right-arm seamer James Anderson has joined the England side as the bowling mentor for the remaining two matches of the series. The second Test between England and the West Indies will start on Thursday at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Anderson will assume his new role from the second match, mentoring the English bowling lineup for the rest of the series. The fast bowler bid farewell to Test cricket on Friday as the third-highest wicket-taker in the game’s history. The 41-year-old took four wickets in his final Test match, finishing with 704 career scalps, trailing only Muttiah Muralitharan and the late Shane Warne.

The hosts dominated the Caribbeans, winning by an innings and 114 runs. Legends of the sport, both past and present, took to social media to acknowledge Anderson’s immense contribution to cricket over his two-decade-long career.
