James Gunn Teases ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 with Selfie in Iconic Helmet

Published:

The superhero series “Peacemaker” is gearing up for its second season after more than two years since its debut.

James Gunn, the mastermind behind the show, recently shared an exciting update on Instagram. In a selfie, he proudly donned the iconic helmet of the titular character, Peacemaker. Alongside the image, Gunn wrote, “Day 1 S2,” adding a mermaid emoji, a subtle nod to dedicated fans of the show. The mermaid emoji holds special significance as it was a favorite of Vigilante, a character from the first season.

In the inaugural season, “Peacemaker” introduced viewers to John Cena’s complex character, who embodies both brutality and vulnerability. The stellar cast also includes Danielle Brooks, Chukwudi Iwuji, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick as Peacemaker’s father, White Dragon.

Reflecting on the first season’s finale, Gunn shared insights into the character development and overall vision for “Peacemaker” in an interview with Variety. He emphasized the importance of exploring Peacemaker’s personal journey and the evolution of other key characters throughout the series.

Gunn stated, “The most important thing for me in the first season was who Peacemaker was and where was he going. What was his personal journey?… So I know where Peacemaker starts and where he ends, but I’m playing with other ideas around that and how that’s gonna play out.”

With production now underway for Season 2, fans can anticipate more action, drama, and character exploration in the upcoming installment of “Peacemaker.”
