Jennifer Garner Shares Fun ‘Nerdy Farm Facts’ About Growing Pumpkins

Jennifer Garner, widely known for her roles in films like “13 Going on 30,” has embraced her love for farming by sharing some “nerdy farm facts” with her fans. On Sunday, the 52-year-old actress took to her Instagram account to post a charming video from her pumpkin patch, where she offered tips and insights on how to grow pumpkins.

Dressed in dungarees over a T-shirt, Garner enthusiastically explained a fascinating fact about the pumpkin flower, holding a yellow bloom in her hand. “This flower is both male and female,” she began, pointing out the pistil inside. “It needs the pollen. Do you know who takes care of that? Bees! Thank you for the bees!”

Garner continued, explaining how the miracle of pumpkin growth begins once the pollen falls onto the pistil. She humorously compared the process to receiving an email, saying, “Congratulations, Mama Pumpkin. Your baby is the size of a large grape.”

Walking her viewers through the stages of pumpkin growth, Garner showed how the flower gradually develops into a pumpkin. “It keeps growing and growing and growing,” she said, demonstrating the flower’s stem. “This curls and dries off. Sometimes, it doesn’t. It’s like a little umbilical cord; it’s crazy.” Holding up two small, unripe pumpkins, she added with a smile, “‘Dear Mama, congratulations.’ Today your pumpkins are a nice size B. And they keep growing and growing until they grow into big beautiful pumpkins.”

The video concluded with Garner sitting among several large, ripe pumpkins, wrapping up her educational session with the caption, “Nerdy Farm Facts: Pumpkins.” Her charming and informative tips have delighted her followers, offering a glimpse into her down-to-earth and playful personality.

Garner’s love for farming comes on the heels of her recent trip to Japan, where she faced a personal fear. In another Instagram post, she shared her experience of overcoming her picky eating habits by trying abalone for the first time. The post included a clip of an oyster farmer catching shellfish, with Garner honouring the food, captioning it, “Honor the life forces that feed us.”
