November 9, 2024: Camille Vasquez, the lawyer who gained fame representing Johnny Depp in his 2022 defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, has addressed ongoing rumours about her dating the actor. In a recent interview with Extra TV, Camille clarified that she and Johnny have never dated and never would. “Let me just go on the record here. Never dated Johnny Depp, never would date Johnny Depp,” she said, adding that while she thinks Johnny is a “lovely person,” he’s simply “not my type.”
Reflecting on her first encounter with Depp, Camille described it as an “out-of-body experience,” sharing how captivated she was by his unique perspective. “After maybe 30-40 minutes of speaking with him, I remember thinking he views the world so differently. He definitely uses different parts of his brain. He’s an artist,” she explained, revealing she’d never actually watched most of his films, including his iconic “Pirates of the Caribbean” series.
When rumours first began circulating about a possible romance, Camille admitted her parents were among the first to ask if there was any truth to the speculation. While she finds the rumours amusing, she insists they’re baseless. She also confirmed that she and Johnny still stay in touch through a group text with the rest of the legal team.
Camille also shared her boyfriend’s reaction to the rumours, telling Access Hollywood that he was understanding and supportive. At the time, Camille was dating Edward Owen, an executive based in England, who she says had no issues with her professional relationship with Depp. “He’s wonderful and supportive and loves me. He knows I’ve worked for Johnny for over four years now,” she said.
The romance rumours around Camille and Johnny have been buzzing since she joined his legal team, but Camille’s recent comments leave no room for doubt—there’s nothing romantic between her and Depp.
