Finally, the wait is over! Karan Johar has officially announced ‘Dhadak 2’, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit film ‘Dhadak’. This time, the lead roles will be played by Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Karan shared an exciting announcement video. He captioned the post in Hindi, “Once upon a time, there was a king and there was a queen. They were from different classes, and that’s the end of the story.” He continued, “Presenting Dhadak 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi & Triptii Dimri. Directed by Shazia Iqbal. #Dhadak2 in cinemas 22nd November 2024.”
As soon as the announcement was made, fans flooded the comment section with excitement. One user wrote, “Whaaaaaaatt!!! So excited.” Another commented, “Good pairing.” A third chimed in, “This is truly gonna be exciting.”
‘Dhadak 2’, directed by Shazia Iqbal, is a story that explores love and challenges social norms. The film follows Siddhant’s character as he navigates a love story that breaks through societal expectations and class barriers. The movie is produced by Zee Studios, Dharma Productions, and Cloud 9 Pictures and is slated for release on November 22, 2024.
This sequel follows the original ‘Dhadak’ which starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter and was a Hindi remake of the Marathi film ‘Sairat’. The new film also stars Ashutosh Rana, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Aditya Kumar.
