Kareena Kapoor Khan is back in the spotlight with a powerful new poster for her upcoming film, ‘The Buckingham Murders.’ After generating excitement with the teaser, the film’s makers have now unveiled a fresh look at Kareena’s character, exuding serious boss lady vibes.
Director Hansal Mehta took to Instagram to share the poster, where Kareena is seen striding confidently down a corridor, dressed in a sleek black ensemble. Sporting a formal shirt, matching blazer, and pants, she perfectly embodies the strong, determined character she portrays in the film.
Mehta captioned the post, “DS Bhamra is on her way to unfold the secrets of #TheBuckinghamMurders.”
The teaser, released earlier, opens with a haunting scene of a child walking through a park while a voiceover hints at the arrival of a new detective. Kareena then appears on screen, interrogating a suspect with intense focus. She plays Detective Sergeant Jasmeet Bhamra, a grieving mother on a mission to solve the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire.
Sharing the teaser on her social media, Kareena introduced her character: “Meet Detective Sergeant Jasmeet Bhamra! Watch as she unveils hidden truths. #TheBuckinghamMurdersTeaser Out Now.”
‘The Buckingham Murders’ is written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker, and produced by Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films along with Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. This film also marks Kareena’s debut as a producer.
According to Variety, the film follows Jasmeet Bhamra (played by Kareena Kapoor Khan), a detective and mother who, after losing her own child, is tasked with investigating the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire. The investigation leads her down a path of hidden secrets, where nearly everyone in the small town is a suspect.
In a previous interview with Variety, Kareena revealed that her character is inspired by Kate Winslet’s role in ‘Mare of Easttown.’ She shared, “I love ‘Mare of Easttown’ and when Hansal came to me, I said this is something that I’ve really been dying to do. So we’ve molded a little bit on those lines; she plays a detective cop in that.”
‘The Buckingham Murders’ is set to hit cinemas on September 13, 2024. The film’s ensemble cast also includes Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen.
In addition to this project, Kareena is also set to appear in Meghna Gulzar’s new film ‘Daayra’ and Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again.’ ‘Singham Again’ is the third installment of the super-hit franchise, starring Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh in lead roles.
