Kate Winslet shared the reaction of her son after watching the iconic film ‘Titanic’, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate.
“My youngest has seen ‘Titanic’, he saw it last year,” said Kate about her son 10-year-old Bear, whom she shares with husband Edward Abel Smith during the premiere of her new film ‘Lee’ in New York.
“He cried a lot, and he kept having to pause it, and he was very upset,” she added.
The Titanic star also mentioned her older children, Mia (24) and Joe (21), who have a strong appreciation for one of her other films, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Winslet admitted she was surprised to learn that they had watched the movie without her, as she had always hoped to share the experience with them.
Despite Titanic’s enormous success, Winslet shared that the post-release fame was overwhelming for her. She took on smaller, independent films afterward, even as journalists questioned why she didn’t capitalize on her stardom. Winslet reflected on how Titanic remains emotionally significant for fans, nearly 30 years after its release.
