November 7, 2024: Keacy Carty made history on Thursday, becoming the first West Indies player born on the island of Sint Maarten to score an international century. Carty’s knock was a significant milestone, not only marking his maiden century but also his 50th international appearance for the West Indies. He was in superb touch, hitting 15 fours and 2 sixes while steering his side to a successful chase of England’s total of 263/8, with seven overs to spare. Alongside him, Brandon King also played a stellar innings, scoring 102 runs from 117 balls (13 fours, 1 six), anchoring the run chase and providing solid support to Carty.

In England’s innings, after winning the toss, the West Indies chose to field, and Phil Salt (74 runs from 108 balls) gave the visitors a strong start. However, England’s middle order faltered, and they could only muster 263/8. West Indies bowler Matthew Forde led the charge with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 35 runs.

On the bowling side, England’s Reece Topley and Jamie Overton were the only bowlers who managed to take wickets, but the Windies’ batsmen made light work of the chase, with King and Carty’s commanding performances ensuring a comfortable win.

The win in the final game sealed the series for West Indies, and it was a fitting way to cap off the series with Carty’s unforgettable century marking a new chapter in West Indies cricket history.
