Kim Kardashian Enchants at Met Gala with Margiela by John Galliano Ensemble

Kim Kardashian, a perennial sensation at the Met Gala, once again captivated the spotlight at this year’s event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. For the occasion, Kim chose a stunning sheer dress designed by Margiela under John Galliano’s creative direction, embellished with a lace train adorned with leaf and floral motifs.

Her choice of a cool, icy bleach-blonde hairdo complemented the silver accents of her dress. Kim opted for a natural look, with gentle waves and subtle makeup, highlighted by shimmery silver eyeshadow, and accessorized with a simple gray shawl to complete her ensemble. The standout feature of her outfit was a striking silver corset that accentuated her famously slender waist.

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to making bold statements at fashion’s grandest soirée. Her Met Gala appearances have always been memorable, from her controversial yet iconic black Balenciaga haute couture gown in 2021, which included a matching mask and train, to her 2022 ensemble, a historic gown originally worn by Marilyn Monroe. This particular dress, which Monroe wore while singing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy in 1962, was borrowed from Ripley’s Believe It or Not! after their acquisition at Julien’s Auction for $4.81 million.

To fit into this legendary piece, Kim revealed she had to lose 16 pounds, as the gown’s historical value meant it could not be altered. This decision sparked debate among her critics, who questioned both her extreme weight loss measures and the appropriateness of wearing such a significant piece of history.

Kim’s first Met Gala appearance in 2013 was equally notable. Pregnant with her first child, North West, she walked the red carpet in a custom floral printed jersey dress by Givenchy, designed by Riccardo Tisci, which featured matching gloves and shoes. She attended the event alongside her then-boyfriend, Kanye West, who was dressed in a simple Givenchy suit by Riccardo Tisci.
