October 19, 2024: On the first anniversary of Leo, director Lokesh Kanagaraj celebrated the milestone by sharing a heartfelt post along with a picture of himself with Thalapathy Vijay.
On X (formerly Twitter) In his note, Kanagaraj expressed gratitude for the experience of working on Leo and how the film holds a special place in his heart. He thanked Vijay for making the project happen and extended appreciation to the cast, crew, and the fans for their dedication and support. It marked a highly anticipated reunion between Vijay and Kanagaraj after their successful 2021 collaboration on Master. The film generated massive buzz upon release, with Seven Screen Studios even petitioning the Madras High Court to allow early 4 am screenings on the release day, though the court did not approve the request.
As fans continue to celebrate Leo, Thalapathy Vijay is already gearing up for his next project with director H Vinoth. Tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the film is slated for an October 2025 release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the music, adding to the excitement around the upcoming venture.
