According to a report confirmed by ABC News, “pink cocaine” does not actually contain cocaine but is often a mixture of methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA, as described by the National Capital Poison Center. Investigators also discovered an “improvised aluminum pipe” in Payne’s hotel room, which was allegedly used to ingest drugs.
Before the fall, hotel staff had already expressed concern for Payne’s behavior. The chief receptionist at the Buenos Aires hotel, identified as “Esteban,” made a 911 call about the singer’s erratic actions. According to Argentine outlet La Nacion, the receptionist reported, “We have a guest who is under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He is conscious but is destroying the room.” Though Payne’s name was not mentioned during the call, the situation had already escalated.
