Chetu Foundation Donates $100,000 to Akshaya Patra Foundation to Combat Classroom Hunger

Noida (Uttar Pradesh), November 28: The Chetu Foundation, the philanthropic arm of global software solutions provider Chetu, has announced a generous donation of $100,000 to the Akshaya Patra Foundation. The donation aims to support Akshaya Patra’s mission to eradicate classroom hunger by providing free, nutritious mid-day meals to children in government schools across India.

This contribution follows an earlier significant donation from the Chetu Foundation, reinforcing its commitment to combating classroom hunger, a challenge that affects over 200 million children in India. Hunger is one of the primary barriers to regular school attendance and academic success, often leading to reduced focus and lower performance among students.

"The Chetu Foundation has contributed over half a million dollars to various charities over the past few years," said Shaili Bansal, Executive Director of the Chetu Foundation. "Akshaya Patra has become a top priority for us because of its critical work in feeding disadvantaged schoolchildren across India."

Bansal emphasized the dual impact of Akshaya Patra’s efforts, highlighting how providing essential nutrition motivates parents to send their children to school, where they also gain access to education.

"Feeding schoolchildren in India has a two-fold benefit," she added. "The children receive vital nutrition they might otherwise lack, and their parents are motivated to send their kids to school for the daily meal, where they also receive an education."
