From Music to Fashion: Beyoncé Scores First Primetime Emmy for Costume Design

The ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ singer, already a record-breaking Grammy winner, won for her stunning work on her Netflix special ‘Beyoncé Bowl,’ adding a new prestigious award to her long list of accomplishments.

Los Angeles, US – August 13, 2025: In a career already defined by historic wins, Beyoncé has added another major milestone to her list of accolades: her very first Primetime Emmy Award. The Television Academy announced the first winners of the 77th Emmy Awards, naming the superstar as a winner for her exceptional costume design work on her Netflix special, ‘Beyoncé Bowl.’

The award was for the category of Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Programming. She shares the honor with costume designer Shiona Turini, assistant costume designers Erica Rice and Molly Peters, costume supervisor Chelsea Staebell, and head of workroom Timothy White.

‘Beyoncé Bowl,’ which featured electrifying performances with artists like Post Malone and Shaboozey, has also been nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special and Outstanding Variety Special. The winners for those categories will be announced at the upcoming ceremonies on September 6 and 7 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The main 77th Emmy Awards ceremony will follow on September 14.

The special, which premiered on Christmas Day, saw Beyoncé take the stage to perform songs from her Grammy-winning album, ‘Cowboy Carter.’ Her daughter, Blue Ivy, also made a special appearance for the final song, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em.’

This latest win adds to a career that already includes 35 Grammy awards, making her the highest-winning artist in history. She was also nominated for an Oscar in 2022 for co-writing ‘Be Alive’ from ‘King Richard.’
