Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), January 11: The much-anticipated Maha Kumbh 2025 is set to commence on January 13 and conclude on February 26 in Prayagraj, promising devotees a unique experience blending spirituality, art, and culture.
This grand gathering will not only offer the traditional holy dip at the Sangam but also enthrall visitors with a lineup of performances by celebrated artists showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage through music, dance, and storytelling.
The festivities will open with a captivating performance by Shankar Mahadevan on January 13, while Mohit Chauhan will close the event with his soulful melodies on February 26. Throughout the event, luminaries like Kailash Kher, Shaan Mukherjee, Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kavita Seth, Shovana Narayan, Dr. L Subramaniam, Bickram Ghosh, and Malini Awasthi will grace the stage, creating an atmosphere of devotion and joy.
The Ganga Pandal at the Kumbh Mela grounds will be the cultural epicenter, hosting classical dances, folk music, and dramatic arts. These performances will narrate stories of faith, devotion, and India’s cultural richness, offering a spiritual and artistic feast to attendees.
In addition to these performances, classical maestros like Dr. L Subramaniam, Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, and Tanmay Bose, as well as folk stars such as Abha Gandharva and Parthiv Gohil, will enthrall audiences.
The Maha Kumbh, celebrated every 12 years, is expected to draw over 45 crore devotees this year. At the heart of the event is the holy dip at the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet. This act is believed to absolve sins and grant moksha (liberation).
