“Homemade AI bot revolutionizes job hunting but sparks debate on the role of automation in recruitment.”

January 10, 2025: In an innovative use of artificial intelligence, a man shared his experience of automating his job hunt using a homemade AI bot, allowing him to apply for 1,000 jobs—all while he slept. The results? The bot secured him 50 interviews in just one month.

The man detailed his journey on Reddit’s ‘Get Employed’ forum, where he explained how the AI bot simplified and enhanced his job application process. The bot was designed to handle every aspect of job hunting, including analyzing job descriptions, tailoring CVs and cover letters, answering specific recruiter questions, and automatically submitting applications.

“In just one month, this method helped me secure around 50 interviews,” he wrote. The bot’s standout feature was its ability to generate personalized CVs and cover letters for each job application, significantly increasing the chances of bypassing automated screening systems often used by recruiters.

While the approach was undeniably efficient, the user reflected on its broader implications. He noted that while automation optimizes the application process, it might also strip away the human connection integral to professional relationships. “We face a paradox: as we seek to optimize the selection process, we risk losing the human element that often makes a difference in a work environment,” he observed.

The Reddit post has since sparked widespread discussion about the future of job hunting and the role of AI in recruitment. While the technology offers unparalleled efficiency, it also raises questions about how it might impact interpersonal connections in the workplace.
