A disturbing video from Mankhurd, Mumbai, shows a man laughing as his Pit Bull bites an 11-year-old boy inside an auto-rickshaw. Police have filed a case against the dog’s owner under multiple IPC and BNS sections.

July- 21, 2025: Mumbai witnessed a shocking incident in the eastern suburb of Mankhurd, where an 11-year-old boy was attacked by a Pit Bull, reportedly unleashed on him by its owner. A disturbing video of the incident shows the scared child sitting inside an auto-rickshaw, while the dog sits next to him, unrestrained.

The owner, identified as Mohammad Sohail Hasan (43), was seated in the front seat of the rickshaw, laughing at the boy’s frightened reactions. In the clip, the child’s screams are heard as the dog leaps and bites his chin, before grabbing his clothes as he tries to escape.

“The dog bit me, and I ran away, but it grabbed my clothes. I pleaded for help, but the man just laughed,” said the victim, Hamza, recalling the horrifying attack. He also mentioned that bystanders chose to record videos rather than stepping in to help.

Following the complaint lodged by Hamza’s father, police registered a case on Friday. Hasan faces charges under sections 291 (negligent abandonment of animals), 125 (causing simple hurt), and 125(A) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). He has also served a notice under section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
