November 26, 2024: Former President Bill Clinton is the latest to join Taylor Swift’s fanbase. Attending her Eras Tour in Toronto with Hillary Clinton, granddaughter Charlotte, and friends, the 78-year-old politician shared his newfound admiration for the Grammy-winning pop icon. Reflecting on the experience during an interview, Clinton said, “I finally get the hype.”
The Clintons joined the sold-out crowd at Toronto’s Rogers Centre for Swift’s Eras Tour, which has seen an impressive lineup of high-profile attendees, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. During a subsequent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Clinton expressed awe over Swift’s ability to deliver a nonstop, three-hour-plus performance.
“She’s not like a lot of people who do concerts,” Clinton remarked. “She just kept singing, straight through. I think it’s incredibly respectful to the audience.” He also commented on the enthusiasm of young fans, including his granddaughter, who sang along to every lyric without missing a beat.
A viral video from the event shows Clinton enjoying the concert from a VIP suite as Swift performed her 2008 hit You Belong with Me. When asked if the family tried to secure a backstage meeting, Clinton laughed, joking about the logistical challenges: “Actually, they didn’t ask me to pull strings. And I probably couldn’t have, considering you’d have to cross a football field to get there.”
As Swift nears the conclusion of her highly successful Eras Tour, she became emotional during her final Toronto performance on November 23. Overwhelmed by thunderous applause after singing Champagne Problems, Swift paused to thank her fans, saying, “You have no idea how much this means to me.” She reflected on the tour’s journey, highlighting the dedication of her band, crew, and fans.
“This tour has been the most unforgettable experience,” she shared. “You’ve put so much of your lives into being here tonight, and we’ll never forget it.”
The Toronto leg of the Eras Tour featured a star-studded VIP section, including Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, exchanging friendship bracelets with fans, and Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, joining the festivities. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau extended a warm welcome to Swift during her time in the country.
Swift’s Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, has been a monumental success, with its final performances scheduled for Vancouver in December.
