Good Health Isn’t About Flat Abs: Rujuta Diwekar Reveals 3 True Markers of Wellness

Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar explains why real fitness goes beyond appearance and highlights capacity, immunity, and emotional balance as the foundations of good health

Good health has little to do with flat abs, weight loss, or social media validation. According to celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, who works closely with actors like Kareena Kapoor, true wellness is reflected in how the body and mind function in everyday life. In a January 29 Instagram post, Rujuta shared three simple yet powerful parameters that define real, long-term health.

“Good health isn’t about flat abs or Instagram likes, it’s about what your body can actually do,” she said, urging people to shift focus from appearance to ability.

1. Capacity
Capacity refers to how much your body can handle with ease. Rujuta explained that improved capacity means being able to do more physical activity with less strain and quicker recovery. She shared an example of a family member who once struggled to climb a hill but, after consistent exercise and proper eating, could climb comfortably, enjoy time at the top, and return without pain. Increased capacity may not always show on the outside, but it brings strength, confidence, and resilience from within.

2. Immunity
Strong immunity, according to Rujuta, allows you to stay healthy even in challenging environments. Whether it’s attending weddings, travelling, or being around unwell people, a healthy immune system helps prevent frequent issues like acidity, bloating, headaches, flu, or allergies. Over time, this also reduces dependence on medicines and antibiotics—an important sign that the body is functioning well.

3. Emotional Balance
Wellness isn’t complete without emotional health. Rujuta emphasised the importance of managing anger, cultivating compassion, and not letting negativity drain your energy. When unnecessary comments or situations stop affecting you deeply, mental peace improves—and so does overall health.

Summing up her philosophy, Rujuta encouraged people to reflect inwardly: are your capacity, immunity, and compassion increasing? If yes, that’s real health—far more meaningful than what meets the eye.
