Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh) [India]: An incident of alleged gang-rape has come to light in the Ashok Nagar district of Madhya Pradesh days after the Ujjain minor girl rape incident.
A 34-year-old married woman was allegedly gang-raped by four persons and was found lying at a farm near a village under Shadora police station in Ashoknagar district, a police official said.
According to the FIR copy, the incident occurred on the night of September 30 and October 1. After committing the crime, the accused tied the woman’s hand, left her at the farm, and escaped from the spot.
Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Vivek Sharma said, “We received information on Dial 100 that a woman was found tied up in a farm near the village. The police team reached the spot and brought the woman to the hospital. During the initial interrogation, she told us that four people forced her to sit in the car and brutalised her.”
The victim also had some injuries on her body and a medical examination was being conducted in this regard. A woman sub-inspector was also questioning her and further action would be based on the victim’s statement, he added.
According to the FIR, the woman, a resident of Shivpuri district, had come to Ashoknagar for treatment on September 30 morning. Around 4:00 in the evening, she was going to the bus stand but on the way, a jeep stopped near her in which there were three persons from her village, and a driver.
They made her sit in the car and tied her hands with a rope. One of them tied her eyes with a towel. When she screamed, he slapped her and tied her mouth with the same towel, the FIR read.
When they reached a deserted place, they stopped the car and violated her one after another in the vehicle. After that, they stopped the vehicle at a deserted place, took her out of the vehicle, and again assaulted her. Thereafter, they again put her in the car and they kept driving the car around. Later, late at night, the accused threw her out at a farm near the road and raped her there as well, the FIR added.
After that one of the accused tied her hands and legs with a rope. Another accused injured her with a sharp weapon. When the accused heard the sound of a vehicle, they ran away from the spot and while leaving they threatened her that they would kill her if she spoke about what had happened, the FIR stated.
In the morning, the victim regained consciousness and screamed till some people found her, and after that, she was brought to Shadora hospital, the FIR added.
Based on the statement of the victim, the police lodged an FIR under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 323, 324, 342, 376 (D), 506 and 34 into the matter. Further investigation is underway.
