October 12, 2024: Mallika Sherawat recently made her Bollywood comeback with Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring alongside Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri. In a recent interview, Mallika opened up about her early days in the industry and credited filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt for shaping her both personally and professionally. She shared her experience working on the 2004 film Murder, which became a turning point in her career.
During a candid conversation with Hauterfly, Mallika spoke about the challenges of filming bold scenes and expressed her gratitude towards Bhatt and co-star Emraan Hashmi. “Mahesh Bhatt sahab has given me wings. He helped me break free from patriarchal norms and guided me through the industry,” she said, highlighting the director’s progressive approach.

Mallika also praised Emraan Hashmi for his professionalism, revealing how he made her feel comfortable during the intense scenes in Murder. “All girls are very safe on his set. I felt very safe even doing those bold scenes in Murder. Of course, it’s natural to feel a little uncomfortable with so many people around, but both Bhatt sahab and Emraan made sure I was at ease. Emraan was an absolute gentleman,” she recalled.
As she steps back into the spotlight, Mallika’s reflection on her past work highlights the supportive environment that helped her navigate the challenges of bold roles in Bollywood.
