Meghan Markle, Prince Harry announce two new series

Since their departure as senior working royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have transitioned to life in California, actively engaging in creating impactful content for the entertainment industry.

On April 11, their Archewell Productions announced the development of two new nonfiction series with Netflix, as part of their 2020 collaboration with the streaming service, according to Deadline.

The first project under this deal will feature the Duchess of Sussex embracing the pleasures of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and nurturing friendships. This series is set to be produced by Sony Pictures Television’s The Intellectual Property Corporation, known for Hulu’s “The D’Amelio Show” and A&E’s “Leah Remini: Scientology & the Aftermath.” Leah Hariton of “Selena + Chef” fame will oversee the project as showrunner, with Michael Steed, director of notable episodes from “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” and “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown,” at the helm. Meghan will executive produce alongside Chanel Pysnik for Archewell Productions, with Hariton, Aaron Saidman, and Eli Holzman for IPC.

The second series will delve into the competitive world of professional polo, documenting the intense challenges and vibrant culture of the sport during the U.S. Open Polo Championship at The USPA National Polo Center in Wellington, Florida. This series aims to reveal the demanding nature and spirited passion behind polo, a sport in which Prince Harry frequently participates. Production responsibilities will be handled by Boardwalk Pictures, which has previously produced “Chef’s Table” and “Sex, Love & Goop” for Netflix.

These initiatives build on the Duke and Duchess’s earlier project, the deeply personal docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” which premiered in December 2022
