Michael Bay is reportedly in talks to direct Will Smith in the action-thriller “Fast and Loose”.
The plot follows a crime boss who loses his memory after an attack, only to gradually realize that he’s been leading a double life—one as a wealthy criminal and the other as a low-ranking CIA agent. The screenplay has been crafted by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson.
Originally, David Leitch was set to direct, but he left to work on “The Fall Guy”. The film is produced by Leitch, Kelly McCormick, Will Smith, and other key producers from STXfilms. Production had been delayed after Smith’s controversial incident at the 2022 Oscars.
This project marks a reunion between Michael Bay and Will Smith, who worked together in the highly successful “Bad Boys” franchise. Bay is known for his explosive action-packed films like “Armageddon”, “The Rock”, and “Transformers”.
Will Smith, one of Hollywood’s top stars, continues to build on his prolific career, having starred in numerous iconic films, ranging from “Men in Black” to his Oscar-winning role in “King Richard”. If Bay officially signs on, the duo’s collaboration is highly anticipated.
