October 19, 2024: Shaji Ul Mulk, the founder and chairman of T Ten Global Sports, has expressed optimism about the possibility of seeing MS Dhoni play in the T10 format, despite ongoing uncertainty regarding the legendary cricketer’s future with the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

Dhoni’s age, a knee injury, and his recent silence about retirement plans have left fans and analysts speculating about his next moves, especially after CSK’s early exit from the tournament.

While top current Indian internationals are restricted to the IPL, many former Indian stars, like Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, and Irfan Pathan, have joined various T10 leagues, further fueling the speculation about Dhoni’s potential participation.

Shaji noted, “Absolutely, I think outside of the top level of international cricketers playing, current India internationals are not allowed to play outside of the Indian Premier League. The recently retired players, almost all the big names of India, have come to play T10. So yes, we can expect MS Dhoni to be playing T10 when he makes up his mind.”

The upcoming 2024 Abu Dhabi T10 season is set to be the biggest yet, featuring 179 international players from 11 nations, including prominent figures from the West Indies, UAE, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, among others. Matthew Boucher, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket, highlighted the growing global appeal of the T10 format, indicating that it is poised for further growth. With such a diverse roster, the excitement surrounding the T10 league continues to build, and fans remain hopeful for Dhoni’s participation in the future.
