Munawar Faruqui, the winner of ‘Bigg Boss 17’, is poised to venture into acting with the upcoming web series titled ‘First Copy’.
The series was announced with a teaser release on social media that plunges viewers into the nostalgic era of 1999, a time dominated by DVDs.
In his statement, Munawar expressed his excitement about the project: “Over the years, my fans have supported me steadfastly. As a token of gratitude, I am thrilled to reveal this project that showcases a different facet of my capabilities. I am keenly looking forward to their reactions.”
The series, set to debut shortly, is helmed by Farhan P. Zamma, produced by Kurji Productions, and co-produced by Salt Media. It marks a significant shift for Munawar from reality TV sensation to a potential stalwart in the digital acting space.
Previously, Munawar gained massive popularity on ‘Bigg Boss 17’, where he emerged victorious against fellow actor Abhishek Kumar in a compelling finale. Reflecting on his win, Munawar shared, “Throughout the competition, my fans were my pillar of strength. Their relentless support reassured me of my victory.”
Following his triumph, Munawar took to social media to express his gratitude, particularly to Salman Khan for his mentorship, and to his fans, whom he affectionately calls ‘Munawar ki janta’ and ‘Munawar ke warrior’.
His journey on the show wasn’t without challenges, particularly highlighted by the entry of Ayesha Khan, who accused him of personal misconduct and derailed his game plan. Despite these accusations, Munawar’s resilience shone through, allowing him to reclaim his narrative and ultimately secure the ‘Bigg Boss’ trophy.
