February 21, 2025: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Telangana’s Kamareddy district as a Class 10 student, Sri Nidhi, 16, suffered a fatal heart attack while walking to school on Thursday morning.

What Happened?
Sri Nidhi, a native of Singarayapalli village in Ramareddy mandal, was living in Kamareddy to attend a private school. Just as she was nearing the school, she suddenly experienced severe chest pain and collapsed.

A teacher who saw her collapse immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors provided emergency CPR and initial treatment. However, as her condition did not improve, she was referred to another hospital, where she was declared dead due to a cardiac arrest.
Her sudden death left teachers, classmates, and the school community in deep shock and mourning.
A Growing Concern: Rising Cardiac Arrests in Children
Sri Nidhi’s tragic death follows similar incidents involving young students across India:
- February 2024: Mohit Chaudhary (14), a Class 6 student from Aligarh’s Sirauli village, collapsed while practicing for his school’s annual sports day due to a heart attack.
- January 2024: Diksha (8), from the same district, suffered a cardiac arrest while playing with friends.
Medical experts have been warning about the alarming rise in sudden cardiac deaths among children and young adults.

Sri Nidhi’s tragic demise is yet another reminder of the growing health risks among young students.
