CCTV footage from the mall shows Abhijeet pacing nervously near the glass railing on the fourth floor around 9:14 am. He approaches the edge twice—once stopping himself and the other time changing direction. Just five minutes later, at 9:19 am, he returns with more urgency, climbs the railing, and jumps.
Police received a distress call around 9:30 am. “Our team reached within five to eight minutes, and he was rushed to a hospital. We were later informed of his death,” a senior police official said.
Abhijeet’s father confirmed to the authorities that the teenager had been battling depression. He was the middle child, with both an elder and younger brother.

It is still unclear why he was at the mall so early in the morning, but officials stated that parts of the premises, including the food court and multiplex, open early. “He had reportedly purchased a bottle of water,” a mall staff member informed police.
The tragic incident has sparked conversations around mental health, especially among teenagers, with authorities urging families to be vigilant and seek help when needed.
