Gurugram Police examines CCTV footage; victim’s statement recorded before magistrate as search for accused continues
April 16, 2025: Gurugram, April 16, 2025 – In a deeply disturbing incident, a 46-year-old air hostess has alleged sexual assault by unidentified staff members of a private hospital in Gurugram, while she was on a ventilator in the ICU.
The woman was admitted to the hospital on April 5 after falling ill following a swim in a hotel pool. She was discharged on April 14, and later informed her husband about the alleged assault that took place during her stay.
CCTV Footage Under Review; FIR Lodged
According to a complaint registered at the Sadar police station, the air hostess stated that on April 6, while on life support in the ICU, she was sexually assaulted by hospital staff.
Following her discharge, she narrated the incident to her husband, who helped her approach the police. Authorities have since registered an FIR against unidentified hospital staff.

Police spokespersons confirmed that CCTV footage from the ICU is being examined, and the victim’s statement has been officially recorded before a magistrate.
“We are in the process of identifying the accused and will take strict action. A thorough investigation is underway,” said the Gurugram Police spokesperson.
A Pattern of Rising Abuse Cases in Institutions
This case comes amid growing concerns over the safety of women and children in institutions meant to protect or care for them. In related recent incidents:
- A nine-year-old girl in Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar was sexually assaulted by her school van driver over a period of 18 months.
- A five-year-old was allegedly assaulted by a Class 12 student in a Delhi school. The accused, a foreign national, is under diplomatic investigation.
