Air India Crash Victim’s Son Files Lawsuit Against Boeing In US Court
August 13, 2025: Hir Prajapati, whose mother Kalpana Ben Prajapati was a victim of the tragic June 12 Air India crash, has filed a lawsuit against aircraft manufacturer Boeing in a US federal court. Prajapati stated his belief that the US legal system will provide a much faster resolution than the “years” a trial would take in India.
In an interview, Prajapati confirmed that his family has engaged Mike Andrews, a US-based aviation lawyer, to represent them. “We are fighting the case in the US so that a decision is pronounced early,” he said. He added that the family hopes to get “raw details of information from the black box” as soon as possible to help them determine their next legal steps.
Prajapati also shared a poignant detail about his mother’s journey, revealing that he had rescheduled her flight twice before she finally boarded the ill-fated flight on June 12. His family was among the victims who recently held a candlelight vigil to mark two months since the tragedy.
Mike Andrews, who represents more than 65 victim families, attended the vigil and echoed the sentiment of the families, stating that they are “searching for answers.”
