December 24, 2024: Hyderabad: Actor Allu Arjun has been summoned by the Hyderabad Police for questioning regarding the stampede incident that occurred during the screening of his film ‘Pushpa 2’ on December 4. The tragedy resulted in the death of a woman and left her eight-year-old son critically injured.
Allu Arjun has been asked to appear at Chikkadpally Police Station at 11 AM tomorrow. The actor, who was previously arrested on December 13 and later granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court, faces charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder along with the theatre management.
The Hyderabad Police are reportedly considering approaching the High Court to revoke Allu Arjun’s interim bail. Police Commissioner CV Anand stated that legal consultation would determine the next steps in the investigation.
To counter claims made by Allu Arjun, the Hyderabad Police released a 10-minute compiled CCTV video capturing the events of December 4. Commissioner CV Anand mentioned that the footage was assembled from over 1,000 video clips, providing a minute-by-minute breakdown of the incident.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, addressing the state assembly, criticized Allu Arjun for attending the premiere event without police permission and conducting what was described as a ‘roadshow’ post the tragedy.
In a press conference following the accusations, Allu Arjun denied the allegations, calling them false and expressing hurt over what he termed as ‘character assassination’.
The situation remains tense as legal and political repercussions continue to unfold.
