Home Minister Delivers Major Announcement in Parliament on Successful Operation. Security Forces Avenged Civilian Killings, Confirming Identities Through Forensics

July 29, 2025: A big step forward: India’s Home Minister Amit Shah said today that all three terrorists who took part in the terrible Pahalgam incident that killed 26 civilians in April have been stopped. The confirmation came as further information came out about “Operation Mahadev,” a well planned and carried out attempt to fight terrorism.

“All Three Terrorists In Pahalgam Attack Killed,” Home Minister Amit Shah Says, and He Gives Details About “Operation Mahadev”
Mr. Shah said that “Operation Mahadev started on May 22, 2025, the night of the killing.” I was in Srinagar the same day the attack happened. He said that a security meeting on May 30 decided that no terrorist would be able to get away.

Between May 22 and July 22, security authorities carefully tracked signals from sensors on the hills using cutting-edge intelligence tools. “On July 22, we got proof that terrorists were there,” Mr. Shah said.

The Army’s 4 Para contingent, the CRPF, and the J&K Police all took part in the joint operation, which was supported by five human assets. Shah said, “We killed all three terrorists to get back at the civilians who were killed in Pahalgam.”

Four people who were part in the attack and are now in NIA custody were seen the bodies of the dead terrorists to make sure they were who they said they were. “They confirmed that these three were in the meadow,” Mr. Shah said. Forensic ballistic results and live ammunition testing from Pahalgam provided more proof that the weapons found on the terrorists were the same ones used in the April attack.

On April 22, 2025, in the Baisaran Valley, militants aided by Pakistan killed 26 citizens, mostly tourists, in a terrible way during the Pahalgam incident. The event, which was the bloodiest attack on civilians in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, caused a lot of anger and a quick and strong response from Indian security personnel. Suleiman, also known as Hashim Musa, is thought to be the mastermind behind the Pahalgam terror attack. The other two terrorists, Afghan and Jibran, are also members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
