Andhra Woman’s Nightmare: Wooden Crate Reveals Decomposed Body and ₹1.35 Crore Demand

What was believed to be electrical goods for a new home turned into a macabre discovery, unveiling a potential extortion plot and decades-old mystery.

December 20, 2024: Hyderabad: A horrifying incident unfolded in Yendagandi village, Andhra Pradesh, when a woman received a wooden crate she believed contained electrical goods for her under-construction home. Instead, she discovered a decomposed body and a letter demanding ₹1.35 crore, plunging her into a chilling nightmare.

The crate arrived at the home of Naga Tulasi on Thursday night, delivered by autorickshaw. Tulasi assumed it contained electrical appliances sent by a philanthropist who had previously supported her with construction materials, including tiles and paint. The parcel was meant to aid her in completing her home, located a kilometer away from her parents’ residence.

The Shocking Discovery

Upon opening the crate, Tulasi was met with a gruesome sight: the decomposed body of a 45-year-old man, approximately 5’7″ tall, folded, wrapped in polythene, and tightly packed. Alongside the body was a chilling letter, claiming her husband, who went missing over a decade ago, had taken a loan of ₹3 lakh in 2008, which had compounded to ₹1.35 crore. The letter demanded repayment and threatened dire consequences if the amount was not paid.

Background and Investigation

Tulasi’s life took a tragic turn years ago when her husband disappeared, forcing her to live with her parents. She later moved to a rented house and began building her own home with financial assistance from a philanthropic organisation.

Following the discovery, Tulasi’s family immediately alerted the police, who moved the body to a government hospital for post-mortem examination. Investigators are now reviewing all missing person cases in the region to establish the body’s identity.

Authorities are also probing representatives of the Kshatriya Seva Samithi, a local organization that had previously supported Tulasi with construction materials. The possibility of the crate being connected to her application for financial help is under investigation.

Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi called the case “bizarre” and stated, “We are hoping the post-mortem, identity of the dead man, how the parcel was delivered, and the handwriting in the letter will take our investigation forward.”

New Twists and Possible Motives

Adding to the mystery, Tulasi’s brother-in-law has been missing since the day the crate was delivered. Police are investigating whether his disappearance is connected to the case.

Investigators are also considering the possibility of a property dispute being at the center of the plot.

The case has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many questions unanswered as police continue their investigation into the macabre discovery.
