Court discharges all accused; AAP calls it victory for truth
February 27, 2026: In a strong statement after a landmark ruling, Arvind Kejriwal addressed the media, calling the court’s decision a victory for truth and justice. The court dismissed all allegations in the Delhi liquor policy case, discharging every accused, including Kejriwal and his colleagues. He said the verdict reaffirmed faith in India’s judicial system and upheld the integrity of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Kejriwal alleged that the case was part of a political conspiracy orchestrated by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to weaken the party. He referred to the imprisonment of senior leaders, including Manish Sisodia, describing it as an attempt to damage AAP’s reputation. The press briefing was marked by visible emotion as he maintained that the accusations were false and politically motivated.
Praising the judiciary and invoking the vision of B. R. Ambedkar, Kejriwal framed the verdict as a reaffirmation of democracy and the rule of law. He urged the central leadership to focus on pressing national concerns such as unemployment, inflation and infrastructure rather than political rivalries. The ruling is expected to have significant political implications in the capital and beyond.
