Verdict delivered over charges linked to separatism and terror funding
March 24, 2026: A Delhi court on Tuesday sentenced Kashmiri separatist leader Asiya Andrabi to life imprisonment in a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The court found her guilty of serious charges, including involvement in terror funding and activities aimed at undermining India’s sovereignty.
According to the court, Andrabi’s actions were linked to efforts to promote separatism in Jammu and Kashmir. The prosecution argued that her role extended to supporting anti-India operations, which ultimately led to her conviction under stringent anti-terror provisions.
The verdict marks a significant development in cases related to separatist activities and terror financing. Authorities have reiterated that strict legal action will continue against individuals found involved in activities threatening national security.
