Big Breaking! 10 Civilians Killed As Pakistan Launches Artillery Retaliation After India’s Operation Sindoor
May 7, 2025: New Delhi – At least 10 civilians were killed and several others injured in intense artillery shelling and indiscriminate firing by Pakistan across the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir late Tuesday night, the Indian Army confirmed.
The attack came just hours after India launched Operation Sindoor, a coordinated tri-services precision strike targeting nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and PoK, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack that left 26 civilians dead.

Calling the firing “arbitrary and unprovoked”, Indian defence officials said a proportionate response had been made. Pakistani forces had already been engaging in small arms violations for nearly two weeks preceding Tuesday night’s deadly escalation.
The strikes mark India’s first coordinated military operation involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force since the 1971 war, signaling a major escalation in India’s counter-terror posture.
India hit nine key locations tied to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), including:
India deployed SCALP cruise missiles, Hammer bunker-busting bombs, and loitering munitions — drone-guided missiles capable of identifying and autonomously striking targets before detonation.
According to the Indian government, these precision strikes were “focused, measured, and non-escalatory”, with no Pakistani military facilities targeted.
As civilian evacuations continue in vulnerable LoC villages and security remains on high alert across northern India, the government reiterated its resolve to hold terror networks accountable.
The Defence Ministry noted:
“India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the method of execution, but we remain firm in our commitment that those responsible will be held to account.”
