Bizarre: Patient’s Dead Body Found on Neighbouring Rooftop in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu

Sanjeev Kumar’s body discovered on a nearby building’s roof after vanishing from the hospital; family protests negligence, case filed.

January 29, 2025: Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan: The body of a patient, Sanjeev Kumar, was discovered on the roof of a neighbouring building near Aaruni Multispeciality Hospital in Jhunjhunu on Monday, sparking outrage and allegations of medical negligence.

Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Hetamsar, was admitted to the hospital on January 23 for treatment of a liver infection. On Monday, hospital staff informed Kumar’s family that he was missing from his ward. Concerned family members, including his nephew Aditya and son Lucky, rushed to the hospital and began searching for him.

Using mobile location tracking, they pinpointed Kumar’s phone within the hospital vicinity. Upon further investigation, they found his lifeless body on the roof of an adjacent building.

Protests and Allegations
The discovery of the body led to immediate protests outside the hospital, with Kumar’s family accusing the administration of negligence in his care. The situation escalated as a crowd gathered, demanding accountability and action against the hospital.

On Tuesday, police officials, led by Kotwali Police Station Officer Narayan Singh Kavia, intervened and persuaded the family to file a formal case against the hospital administration.

Post-Mortem and Investigation
The body was sent for a post-mortem examination at the government-run BDK Hospital. After the procedure, it was handed over to the family for final rites. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Kumar’s death.

The incident has raised serious concerns about hospital management and patient safety, with demands for stricter accountability measures in private healthcare facilities.
