MZ Wishtown owner Abhay Kumar taken into custody as probe widens

January 20, 2026: In a major breakthrough in the engineer death case, Greater Noida Police have arrested builder Abhay Kumar, owner of real estate firm MZ Wishtown. The arrest was made on Tuesday by the Knowledge Park police station team, officials confirmed. Kumar was named as an accused in the FIR, and his detention marks a significant step forward in the investigation, which has drawn widespread public attention.

Police said Abhay Kumar was taken into custody after sustained questioning as part of the ongoing probe. Investigators are examining his role in the circumstances surrounding the engineer’s death, with particular focus on projects linked to his firm. Officials stated that Kumar’s involvement had emerged clearly during the course of the investigation, leading to his arrest.

Authorities also revealed that the probe has expanded beyond a single project. The Lotus Green project has also come under the scanner, with a separate case registered earlier in connection with it. Police indicated that further questioning and legal action may follow as they continue to investigate multiple real estate developments linked to the case.
