
CBSE Board Exams 2025 Begin: Over 42 Lakh Students, 7,842 Centres Set for Exams
February 15, 2025: CBSE Board Exams 2025 Commence With Over 42 Lakh Students Across 7,842 Centres
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially kicked off the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams for the 2024-25 academic year, starting Saturday, February 15. This year’s exams are set to be the largest in CBSE history, with 42 lakh students appearing across 7,842 centres in India and 26 other countries.

The CBSE Class 10 board exams will end on March 18, while the Class 12 exams will conclude on April 4.
📌 Class 10: First paper – English (Communicative & Language & Literature)
📌 Class 12: First paper – Entrepreneurship
📌 Exam Timings: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
⚠️ Entry Restrictions: Students must reach exam centres before 10 AM. No one will be permitted inside after this time. Early exits are not allowed before 1:30 PM.
🔹 Regular students must carry:
✅ CBSE Admit Card
✅ School ID Card
✅ Must wear school uniforms
🔹 Private students must carry:
✅ CBSE Admit Card
✅ Government-issued photo ID proof
✅ Light clothing permitted

🚫 Strict Ban on Communication Devices:
CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh emphasized that ensuring a free and fair exam is the board’s highest priority.
CBSE has deployed CCTV cameras at all centres to monitor students and prevent unfair practices.
📌 Exam Security Highlights:
✔️ Each room to have 24 students & 2 invigilators
✔️ Assistant superintendents to monitor CCTV footage for every 10 rooms
✔️ Schools failing to provide CCTV footage will be deemed involved in malpractice
CBSE Controller of Examination Sanyam Bhardwaj assured students that strict measures will be in place to maintain exam integrity.
CBSE has streamlined the marks verification and re-evaluation process:
✅ Students can now directly request photocopies of answer sheets
✅ They can apply for verification or re-evaluation if discrepancies are found
This new system aims to improve transparency and fairness in result evaluation.
With 3.14 lakh more students appearing this year compared to 2024, CBSE is ensuring tighter security, smooth logistics, and efficient exam monitoring.
