Congress MP Rahul Gandhi Extends Wishes To People On Vijayadashmi
New Delhi [India]: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi extended wishes to the people on the occasion of Dussehra on Tuesday.
“Best wishes to everyone on Vijayadashami, the great festival of victory of good over evil,” Rahul Gandhi said in a post on X.
He further wrote, “Falsehood and ego should be destroyed, truth and humanity should reside in everyone’s life. Happy Dussehra.”
Earlier today, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge took to his social media account X, greeted people on Dusshera, and also urged them to “take a pledge to end ego and evil and promote social harmony, amity and brotherhood.”
“Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on the holy festival of Vijayadashami, which symbolises the victory of truth over falsehood, good over evil and justice over injustice. On this great festival, we should take a pledge to end ego and evil and promote social harmony, amity and brotherhood,” Kharge said in a post on X.
‘Dussehra’ or ‘Vijaya Dashmi’ is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. It also marks the culmination of the nine-day-long Navratri festival.
It is observed on the tenth day of the month of Ashvin, the seventh in the Hindu Luni-Solar Calendar. The festival typically falls in the Gregorian calendar months of September and October.
The festival also starts the preparations for Diwali, the important festival of lights, which is celebrated twenty days after Vijayadashami.
