March 20, 2025: Bengaluru, India’s Silicon Valley, continues to attract IT professionals, but not everyone finds the city to be a perfect fit. A corporate employee, originally from Noida, took to Reddit to express regret over relocating to Bengaluru for a ₹30,000 salary hike, citing poor infrastructure, traffic congestion, and cultural differences as major concerns.

The worker described Bengaluru as “dirty, unorganized, with bad roads and the worst traffic.” They felt the city’s high population density made it overwhelming compared to Noida’s wider, open spaces.
They criticized the water quality in Bengaluru and felt there was less personal space per individual, adding that Noida provided a better living experience despite its pollution.
The employee noted a visible divide between North and South Indians, claiming it was noticeable “every day.” Some Reddit users echoed this sentiment, sharing experiences of feeling unwelcome due to regional biases.
Despite the salary hike, they questioned whether the move was worth it, advising others to “think twice before relocating for money alone.”
The post sparked a heated debate, with users both agreeing and disagreeing:
The discussion underscores the importance of weighing salary hikes against quality of life before relocating for work. While Bengaluru remains a top tech hub, it may not suit everyone’s lifestyle preferences, making it crucial for professionals to evaluate multiple factors before making a move.
