“Countdown Begins for AAP’s Fall in Punjab,” Says BJP Leader Tarun Chugh

BJP leader slams Kejriwal’s “fake model,” claims Punjab will reject AAP after Delhi debacle

New Delhi, February 11: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday declared that the countdown for the fall of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab has begun, following the party’s crushing defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Chugh labeled Arvind Kejriwal a “fake and cheater”, stating that his much-touted Delhi model has been outrightly rejected by the people. He asserted that the Bhagwant Mann-led government in Punjab is a “house of cards” that will collapse soon.

“Kejriwal’s Delhi Model Thrown into the Yamuna”

Taking a dig at Kejriwal’s governance, Chugh remarked, “The so-called Delhi model was nothing but a sham. The people of Delhi have thrown it into the Yamuna.”

He accused the AAP government of running multiple scams, listing the liquor scam, education and health scam, Jal Board scam, and scholarship scam as examples of the party’s alleged corruption.

“Punjab Has Realized Its Mistake”

Chugh further stated that the people of Punjab have already realized their mistake in trusting AAP’s “deceptive propaganda” and are now prepared to see the end of its rule.

He criticized the Punjab government for its failure to maintain law and order, accusing it of allowing gangsters and mafias to operate freely. “Punjab is looking for a change now,” he added.

Congress in Punjab on “Ventilator”

When asked about Congress’ claim of securing AAP MLA support in Punjab, Chugh dismissed it, saying, “Congress has been wiped out across the country. It is already on a ventilator, a leaderless party with no direction.”

He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to playing a responsible opposition role in Punjab and stated that the party would win the hearts of the people in the coming days.

AAP’s Major Setback in Delhi

Chugh’s remarks come after AAP suffered a massive defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, managing to secure only 22 seats, a steep decline from 62 in 2020. Meanwhile, BJP staged a historic comeback, winning 48 out of 70 seats, marking its return to power in the national capital after 27 years.
