April 26, 2025: New Delhi:
In a decisive retaliation to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, security forces demolished the houses of five Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists across Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night. The sweeping operation covered the districts of Shopian, Kulgam, and Pulwama — signaling a broader crackdown on terrorism in the Valley.

In Shopian’s Chotipora village, the house of LeT commander Shahid Ahmed Kutte was brought down. Kutte, an active terrorist for over three years, is believed to have played a key role in coordinating terror activities in the region.

Another key target was Zahid Ahmed, whose home in Kulgam’s Matalam area was razed. In Pulwama, security forces used explosives to destroy the house of Ahsan Ul Haq, who underwent terror training in Pakistan in 2018 and recently returned to the Valley, raising serious red flags for intelligence agencies.

Also in Pulwama, a double-storey residence belonging to Ehsan Ahmad Sheikh, an LeT terrorist active since mid-2023, was torn down. Meanwhile, in Kachipora, Haris Ahmad’s house was blown up in a controlled explosion.

These demolitions follow Thursday night’s similar action in which the homes of LeT terrorists Adil Hussain Thoker and Asif Sheikh, identified as masterminds of the Pahalgam attack, were destroyed. Officials confirmed explosives were found inside their residences.

Massive Manhunt Underway
Authorities have released sketches of three more suspects in the Pahalgam massacre, including Hashim Musa alias Suleman and Ali Bhai alias Talha Bhai, both Pakistani nationals. A reward of ₹20 lakh has been announced for information leading to their arrest.

The coordinated assault in Pahalgam’s scenic Baisaran Valley, often referred to as “Mini Switzerland,” resulted in the deaths of 26 people, including one Nepali national. Tourists were left scrambling for cover as multiple armed men opened fire indiscriminately in the wide open space.

In response to the attack, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, calling it a justified move in light of “sustained cross-border terrorism.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to ensure that every terrorist and their enablers are “identified, tracked, and punished.”
