The Directorate of Education (DoE) has officially released the academic calendar for the 2026–27 session for all government and government-aided schools in Delhi.

Highlighting the roadmap for higher education, the calendar confirms that online registrations for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) are set to commence in the first week of April 2026. This announcement provides a clear timeline for thousands of students aiming for undergraduate admissions across central universities.

A significant feature of this year’s calendar is the integration of the Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya Vidya Shakti Mission. Approved by the Delhi Cabinet in late 2025, this initiative is designed to bridge the educational divide by providing government school students with free coaching, study materials, and mock tests.

The scheme aims to support students preparing for national-level entrance exams like JEE, NEET, CLAT, and CUET, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their transition to prestigious higher education institutions.

The academic session kicks off today, April 1, with a structured admission process. Admissions for Classes VI to IX under the “non-plan” category will occur in three online cycles through July, with the first window closing on April 7.

For seniors in Classes X and XII, a common admission test is scheduled for April 25, followed by results on April 28. The DoE has also outlined long-term schedules, including summer vacations from May 11 to June 30 and mid-term examinations starting in mid-September.

Beyond rigorous academics, the DoE has emphasized a holistic approach to student development. Schools have been directed to organize exhibitions, sports events, and awareness programs focused on digital literacy and environmental health. The calendar also marks critical registration periods for other competitive streams, such as CA and scholarship exams like the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship, ensuring that students and educators can plan their year with precision and support.
